Mark your calendar and join us for RISE Fest at Pease Park on Sunday, March 29th from 2:00–5:00pm. An afternoon celebrating Austin’s Black freedom communities. Created by Pease Park Conservancy, The Rise Project, Outreach Productions, with thanks to Tejemos Foundation.
Pack your blankets and lawn chairs and join us for an unforgettable afternoon rooted in joy, culture, and community. Come gather, connect, and celebrate the powerful legacy of Austin’s Freedom Communities through music, storytelling, food, and shared experiences.
This year’s festival will feature:
- Delicious food from local vendors
- Hands-on gardening activations
- A soul-stirring performance by the Sweet Home Baptist Church Choir
- Live music from DJ Ajah Monet
- Call-and-response poetry by Zell Miller
- Featured Guests: Ms. Vessie and Ms. Flo, descendants of nearby Freedom Communities
